In December 1992 Hugh Barit formed Performa in Bermuda and is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.  Hugh graduated from Hobart College, Geneva, New York with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics.  On January 1, 1984 he joined IBM as a Marketing Representative, responsible for marketing the company’s products to multi-national insurance companies.  He joined Performa Securities Limited, an investment management firm located in Bermuda, in June 1988 as Marketing Director, responsible for the management of the company’s captive insurance clients.

Shawn Murphy has been responsible for the fixed income management of Performa since its inception. In 2000 he became a Partner of Performa and is currently the President and Chief Investment Officer responsible for Performa's overall investment policy.  He developed and currently leads the team of portfolio manages and traders.  Shawn holds a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Masters in Business Administration from Texas Christian University and has obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.  Prior to joining Performa, Shawn worked in the US Defense Industry and then gathered several years of experience as a financial analyst and portfolio manager.

Winston C. Robinson joined Performa in March 2005 and is the Chief Financial and Operations Officer responsible for the company’s financial and operations activity.  Winston graduated from North Carolina Central University, Durham North Carolina with a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to joining Performa, he was the Managing Director for Appleby Corporate Services (Bermuda) Ltd.  He has a number of years of financial, captive insurance management, accounting and telecommunications experience working with Price Waterhouse, Hanna Insurance Management and The Bermuda Telephone Company Limited.   Contact Winston Robinson

In April 2002 Gary LeBlanc joined  Performa as the Chief Compliance Officer.   Gary graduated from Pepperdine University, Malibu, California with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.  In September 1997 he joined Deloitte & Touche LLP as an audit senior in the Business Advisory & Assurance Services group, specializing in audits of financial service companies.  In November 2000 he joined Deloitte & Touche Tohmatsu International, located in Bermuda, specializing in audits of investment companies, off-shore hedge funds and captive insurance management.

Martin Nearon joined Performa in February 2000 as a Portfolio Manager, and is currently assisting in the management of fixed income and money market portfolios. Martin graduated from The University of Tampa, Tampa, Florida in May 1984 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and a minor in Finance.  In August 1984 he joined The Bermuda Commercial Bank and was appointed to their Management Development Program.  In December 1991 Martin joined The Bank of Bermuda, as a Money Market/Corporate Trader responsible for the cash management of the bank's major currency holdings.   In January 1996 he joined The Bank of Butterfield, as a Capital Markets Trader responsible for the strategic trading in exchange traded OTC derivative products.  Contact Martin Nearon

Judy Lutkin joined Performa in August 2007 as a Client Advisory Analyst with primary responsibility for client relationship management, portfolio management and    marketing and business development activities. Judy obtained a Masters in Business Administration in International Business from the University of Birmingham, Birmingham, UK. in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Hubei University, China in 1999. Prior to joining Performa, Judy worked as a Manager of Market Strategy at Saint-Gobain Abrasives a world leading manufacturing company and as a Project Manager at Union China Holdings.

Kijuana Lewis joined Performa in September 2007 as a Junior Portfolio Manager and is currently assisting with managing the Performa International Convertible Bond Fund. Kijuana graduated from Alabama A&M University in Alabama with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Kijuana is a candidate enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst program and has prior work experience in the reinsurance and fund services industries.
